One World…One Dream…One Gas Mask (part 348…)

A good piece on the Op Ed page of the Wall Street Journal today, written by a guy who used to work in the Beijing office of the Natural Resources Defense Council, one of the most established environmental lobbying/research groups in the United States. Key takeaway sentence comes in the last paragraph.

In 2006, of the 84 major cities in China reported by the State Environmental Protection Agency, Beijing had the fewest number of days attaining the national air quality standard — and in 2007, the air quality was even worse.

Was even worse. Everybody got that? While the enviros congratulate themselves in the United States for getting rid of the 100 watt light bulb, the world’s biggest environmental crisis continues apace right here in China, and is getting “worse.”
