From TIME Hong Kong intern Anka Lee:

As the 20th anniversary of the June 4 crackdown at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square draws near, Hong Kong is humming with activities. Activists and dissidents are holding book talks and forums and students on university campuses across the city are debating whether the central government should come clean about what happened on that spring morning back in 1989. A group of old Communist Party members, all old friends and colleagues of the late reform-minded leader Hu Yaobang — whose death of a heart attack 20 years ago led to the beginnings of the Tiananmen student movement — have even published a book in Hong Kong to remember the old leader and, more significantly, to encourage China to get going on the political reforms.
