This Beijing-based scholar and rights advocate has long campaigned for Chen Guangcheng and reportedly helped in the blind activist’s flight from house arrest in Shandong province. Guo was also one of the first of Chen’s inner circle of friends to provide details of the escape, telling Reuters the feat was a “miracle” of planning and endurance. He was arrested by Chinese authorities last weekend and interrogated for 50 hours.
