Is it more of the same in Egypt? Thousands of Egyptian protesters gathered in Cairo’s Tahrir Square in late November, kicking off several days of protests against a new constitutional decree by Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, giving him sweeping powers. The president and his backers in the Muslim Brotherhood insist the new measures are only in place to safeguard the process of drafting the country’s new constitution from potential meddling by the judiciary, which is seen as being at odds with Morsi and the Islamists who now dominate Egypt’s Constituent Assembly. The protesters, though, fear the authoritarianism of old creeping back into post-revolution Egypt.

These are not protesters but miscreants. I think they should allow the poor guy what he want to do. They have already suffered from dictatorship for 30+ years, so why can't they wait and see for another year. From what he says in his interview with time, I think the guy will change the country.

The Greek government and financial markets were cheered on Tuesday by an agreement between Eurozone finance ministers and the International Monetary Fund to reduce Greece's debt, paving the way for the release of urgently needed aid loans. The deal, clinched at the third attempt after weeks of wrangling, removes the biggest risk of a sovereign default in the Eurozone for now, ensuring the near-bankrupt country will stay afloat at least until after a 2013 German general election. "Tomorrow, a new day starts for all Greeks," Prime Minister Antonis Samaras told reporters at 3 am in Athens after staying up to follow the tense Brussels negotiations. 03/12/2012A day after President Obama upped the ante on fiscal cliff negotiations by saying Republicans were offering Americans “a lump of coal” for Christmas, he made it clear Saturday he isn’t backing down. In his weekly address, Obama accused Republicans of holding “middle class tax cuts hostage,” saying the public needs to pressure lawmakers to prevent an increase in the taxes paid by middle-income Americans as part of the infamous fiscal cliff. “A typical middle class family of four will see their income taxes rise by $2,200,” Obama said. “We can’t let that happen. Our families can’t afford it, and neither can our economy.” The president said the public should let lawmakers know “what $2,000 means to you.” If you choose to contact your lawmaker via Twitter, Obama helpfully suggests you should use the hashtag My2K. (Watch address after the jump.) I thank you Firozali A.Mulla DBA
12/3/12 UBS, the Swiss banking giant, is close to reaching settlements with American and British authorities over the manipulation of interest rates, the latest case in a multiyear investigation that has rattled the financial industry and spurred a public outcry for broad reform. UBS is expected to pay more than $450 million to settle claims that some employees reported false rates to increase the bank’s profit, according to officials briefed on the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the talks were private. That settles the bank now wee have to look at the dividends that come in I thank you Firozali A.Mulla DBA

@ابويحيىحسامالاسطى استطلاعات رأى؟؟ انت شوفت المورسى خد كان رفض فأستفتاء المجلة دى؟؟
These pictures doesn't really express the right circumstance in Egypt. Why does the Time insist to give Morsi a value more than he deserves?https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=446225698770536&set=a.431366490256457.99763.431363056923467&type=1&theater
I was in Tahrir on Nov 22 (the day following the infamous decree) as well as on Tuesday November 27 when tens, if not hundreds of thousands of other peaceful demonstrators headed to Tahrir Square. There was a sense of peace and unity and determination. Your pictures reflect NOTHING of that. They are spectacular, but they only cover the street fights where rioters (I make a distinction from the protesters) play a deadly game of cat and mouse with the security forces. This is NOT what Tahrir is about. Twenty seven TIME pictures and not one covering the real protest and the massive marches heading towards Tahrir. Very skewed and irresponsible reporting.
what a title Thousands of protesters.....................
Where are these thousands.....?
Shame on you bloody hypo crate media
Morsi yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssss @DiaaYousef
Not to the party leaders, who were appointed by Mubarak not to Raspin preside elections - not for those who want Egypt to back - not for Mogeorin - not for users - not to Mubarak tails
1000's protests, where does it show in the picture (even if it's the case)? From the comments below the Christians would make you believe that Christians in Egypt have a hard time yet they have large churches and display their crosses prominently on their necks, cars adn businesses and their are plenty missionaries active around the coutry. This is why Christians have a bad reputation as sneaky liers. Just because of the name Muslims Brotherhood and Islam there is negative comments, they did not critisize when the army took all the powers when Morsi came into power. From the prophet's time to the Islamic caliphate Christians and Jews were given religoius freedom including to have their own law courts but in Christian lands secular law is imposed on everyone including usury/interst, fornication/divorce and even hijab and nikab is banned in France largest Muslims community in western Europe discriminating Muslim women in education and work and forcing people to disobey God. In 800 years of Muslim rule in Spain Chrisitans and Jews were given religoius freedom and when Christians took over in Spanish Inquistiion Jews and Muslims were given the choice to be expelled or convert then changed to convert or die. Chrisitan missionaries in Africa have made a mess of the coutry and converting millions with a choice of food for conversion (with billions of stolen money in Catholic Vatican too. Myself not Egyption but can see what the past leaders have done with very young children working and on the street. But all these sneanky satans interested in is not justice and fairness but propaganda, lies and prejudice - this is why they have a history of anihilating people of 3 continents, colonies, aparteit states, Nazi etc.

@cairo What do we care about the history of the Middle Ages? This is about Egypt now. Its about a revolution that toppled a dictator to now see him replaced by another. Don't drag the Christians and your hatred of them into this, especially if you know nothing about It. Stick to Rwanda if that's what you know.
Nice Try !
IslamExposed in the whole world, So Stop & Do not try to beautify your dirty image...
Out of around 50 million who should have voted , only 25 million voted and he only took 50 % out of those. Those who didn't vote, lot of them believed that Morsy won't win otherwise they would have gone to vote and all of us are paying for this right now. Lot of those who voted for him are regreting this as well in only 4 or 5 month. All these should tell something very serious is happening.
I have went through the 24 pictures of the protestors and none of them is showing the Tahrir square or the real protestor ( over a million by the way) that stood there for the whole night or for the huge demonstration that walked from the diffrent squres in cairo till they reached the Tahrir square.
May be you have to forget that Obama and Helary have supported him if you want to searh for the whole truth.
Morsi is a huge idiot! He knows nothing about politics, better yet run a whole country. He is against all human rights and freedom of other religions opposing islam. He must go!
5 Million Egyptians protesting against those fascists called "Muslim Brotherhood", and despite all this, You want to select this dictator as the "Man of the Year". It's really amazing to see who is encouraging those islamists and fanatics to govern the arab world!Instead of gambling on those terrorists, gamble on the Egyptian people.
@khaledayad they did the same thing with sadam hussien before they kill him
sadam=Muslim Brotherhood=greedy people with no heart ALL WHAT THEY WANT IS TO BE PRESIDENTS but they dont have any good plans for the future but to hate or even kill any one who will disagree with them

@SamirAlnaggar ......There used to be a TV show on when I was a teenager called " To tell the Truth " ......they would have 3 people on stage answering questions by the panel of judges, as to who the real person was that was stated at the beginning. I suppose if there were 3 gods on the show, and we had to find which one was the real and only true God, it would interesting. I do know that with God all things are possible, so I would pick the God who became a man and walked the earth among us, so we could really know Him. And of course then He gave Himself a ransom for us. He was the strongest, but the most Humble. He is so unlike the many gods of this world that are presented to us by men. Worth considering. Will it be number 1,2, or 3.........Revelation 1:18....I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.............

lignumovitae President Morsy elected president a legitimate and fair manner and must be respected by everyone, including Obama, in respect of the will of the Egyptian people chosen as its president - as well as a world of things and erudite mentality
