Bullfighting is cruel and disgusting! I realize it is a "tradition" but some traditions NEED to be changed! It is just wrong and gross and disgusting!

I am pretty sure the bulls are not chasing the runners its the other way around.  Disgusting and cruel.

Little mustached men trying to boost their masculinity by harassing a bull. It's less barbaric than bull "fighting" but pretty silly. Even if it is a tradition, I'll stick with a sport that requires unusual talent and ability.

You have to be a brave man to kill a brave bull with a sword. But you can be a coward and kill a deer, a bear or a wolf with a rifle. ¿How many animals are shot down every year in USA? Their number is by far larger than the number of brave bulls killed in a season of "corridas". People have to consider their own cruelty before blaming the cruelty in others.

The animal in the photo is not a bull but a little cow (a "vaquilla"). Vaquillas are freed for enjoyment of revelers. These animals are not killed, since they are "run" plenty of times in different fiestas and places. Brave bulls live in total freedom in ample ranges and their live (and death) is much better than the live and death of the carrle we eat every day. Please, do excuve my very bad English.

Why is Time/CNN glorifying the ritual torture and mutilation of animals for entertainment? Bullfighting is a brutal activity that is outlawed in most of the world. How about a little bit of real journalism here?

I'm rooting for the bulls.  If anyone elects to put themselves in the path of raging bulls who are probably scared to death as they are taunted and teased by multitudes of Neanderthals lining the streets then they get what they are asking for.

I did this last July, and it was the most fun trip I've ever taken.  Wish I were there right now!

Doesn't everyone get that these bulls are sentient and are stabbed to death by the end of the day in the ring??!!! Animal cruelty is immoral.

Really it's great photo and i like to watch that groups around bulls in the streets more than the sport in bullring.

@TIME Wonderful pictures that gives people an accurate reflection of the mood and complexity behind Pamplona's San Fermin Festival.

That doesn't say much for people all over the world. Bullfighting is a repugnant event for cretins.

@moebes @FJGoodall   Oh yeah, murdering animals for your own enjoyment, that's just fabulous. What a scum you are.
