Prince Andrew of England stated last month that royal protection officers have “a difficult job.” Judging by the recent frequency of attempts to unlawfully enter palace premises, he seems to be right.

On Tuesday, a 44-year-old man was charged after trying to enter Buckingham Palace in possession of a “bladed article” — just over a month after two men were arrested for attempted burglary at the same location. In the heat of the latter debacle, Prince Andrew was himself apprehended by police officers in the palace gardens, and asked to identify himself.
