Amid pressure to step down as mayor of Toronto after admitting he smoked crack cocaine, on Monday Rob Ford told a supporter he’s not going anywhere, “guaranteed.”

Following his speech at Rememberance Day ceremonies for veterans, the embattled mayor added that he’s ready to take on City Council members who have introduced a motion for him to resign.

Ford has refused to either resign or take leave, and the council remains powerless unless Ford is convicted of a crime. A vote on the motion is likely to happen on Wednesday.
