Toronto Mayor Rob Ford says he never lied about smoking crack — reporters just didn’t ask him the right questions.

“If someone would have said, came up to me and said, ‘Have you ever smoked crack? Have you ever smoked weed? I would have said, ‘Yeah, I have,’ ” Ford told CNN this weekend. “But when you come and accuse me of being a crack addict and say, ‘Do you smoke crack?’ No I don’t. Have I? Yeah, OK. Have I drank, have I acted like an idiot when I drank? Yeah, I did.”

Ford was speaking at a children’s toy drive over the weekend in the blue-collar district represented by his brother and TV co-host, Doug Ford. He said he was “sick and tired of all the allegations and all this bulls–t,” and then immediately said, “Sorry, kids — I shouldn’t have sworn in front of the kids,” CNN reports.

Reporters repeatedly asked Ford about his drug use in recent months.

The Toronto City Council is pushing for to resign, but he says he’s not going anywhere.

“I’ve admitted to using illegal drugs in the last year — OK . I’ve admitted to drinking too much — OK . I’m dealing with it,” he told Fox News on Sunday. “You know what? I’m only human. I’ve made mistakes, I’ve apologized, that’s all I can do.”

Ford also told Fox News he wants to run for prime minister.
