Prince Harry and 11 injured servicemen and women taking part in the 2013 Walking with the Wounded expedition reportedly arrived at the South Pole at 12:00 GMT on Friday.

The 208-mile walk is a charitable effort to show the strength of veterans. The group began pulling sleds and walking about 12 miles a day  in late November, BBC reports. The group was split up into three teams made up of wounded veterans from the U.S., the UK and one with veterans from Australia and Canada.

“Our aim was to show that, despite injury, young men and women from our armed forces can still achieve great things,” the expedition’s director Ed Parker said, according to BBC. “We came down here, determined to get 12 men and women, all injured in conflict, to the South Pole, and this is what we have done. The feeling is incredible.”

In a blog post Wednesday, Prince Harry, who has served two tours in Afghanistan as a pilot said, “A half-day on Friday and we get to the South Pole on Friday 13th, unlucky for some, lucky for us.”
