Israel to U.S.: Stop Spying On Us

And demand release of Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard

Israeli officials broke their silence over the U.S. surveillance scandal Sunday, angrily demanding an end to spying on Israel.

The outcry marks the first time Israeli officials have proclaimed their outrage since former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden revealed the spying program, the Associated Press reports. Last week more documents uncovered a partnership between the NSA and British intelligence agency GCHQ from 2008 to 2011 to monitor office email addresses from the then-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Ehud Barak.

The spying scandal reignited another longstanding spat between the two strategically allied countries. Israeli officials called for the release of Jonathan Pollard, an ex-American intelligence analyst who has been jailed in the U.S. for almost 30 years for his role as an Israeli spy. Israel vowed to not spy on the U.S. following Pollard’s conviction, and has since made several unsuccessful calls for his release.

OOPS!  This seems to put Netanyahu and Snowden on the same side of the fence with respect to being upset with the NSA spying on folks outside the US headquartered Global Empire, eh?

Or does it just mean that Snowden wants to expose the Empire, while Netanyahu wants to keep Israel's membership in the DGE (Disguised Global Empire) a secret??

Snowden is not only a 'whistle-blower' on the NSA, but also on the Global EMPIRE behind the NSA & CIA & global finance & global corporations, & global media.

NSA spying on all Americans (and every human being in every country
on the globe) is merely the first recognition of only one of the
police-state functions of just the 3rd, 'militarist sector', of the overall
Disguised Global Empire, the integrated but hidden six-sectored Global
Empire of; corporate, financial, militarist, media, extra-legal, and
political Empire, that has 'captured' and now fully "Occupies" our
former country (and others) by hiding behind the facade of its
modernized and DUAL-Party 'Vichy' sham of democracy --- just as surely
as the earlier Nazi Empire tried less successfully to hide behind its
crude and mere single-party Vichy facade regime in 'captured' and
"Occupied" France during the Second World War of EMPIRES.

Best to all in correctly diagnosing, exposing, non-violently
confronting, surgically 'excising', and surviving the cancerous disease
of Empire which is currently disguising a hidden tumor in our 'body
politic'.

Best luck and love to the fast expanding 'Occupy the Empire'
educational and non-violent revolutionary movement against this
deceitful and Disguised Global EMPIRE, which can't so easily be
identified as wearing Red Coats, Red Stars, nor funny looking Nazi
helmets ---- quite YET!

Liberty, democracy, justice, and equality

Violent ('Vichy' disguised)

We wouldn't mind being spied by NSA if the Americans could just keep a secret. Time and again we learn that you can't or won't. We always knew that we are under close surveillance by every no-good trouble maker, be it a Soviet spy master or an European magazine reporter. This does little to justify a high level response from an Israeli prime-minister, or even from a low level journalist. But when the expensive NSA high-tech intelligence gathering machinery is being used to expose our little secrets to our murderous enemies, courtesy of self-appointed whistleblowers, than we demand compensation – in this case freeing Pollard. Yes, his spying for Israel was disloyal to his homeland, and justly punishable. But 30 years in high-security prison for an act that didn't jeopardized the security of the USA - moreover, in an indirect way actually helped protecting American interests, by making Israel better aware of what's going on inside violent countries endangering the stability throughout the Middle-East – is simply unreasonably vindictive. Many reflexive anti-Israel writers herein below feel elated for this tough vindication, but any thoughtful reader should ask himself: is there any other spy in a US jail paying that much for a similar sin? Or was Pollard made an example of stern punishment for the unstated reason, that an American Jew should be treated differently because his people's loyalty is questionable? In that case, no wonder so few Jews volunteer to serve in the US armed forces – to the clear disadvantage of their homeland.

Anthony Pollard totally concurs with your pain, dear Israel.

No one mentioned that the USA refused to spy on their main Jewish ally, Benjamin Netanyahu -- the man that could, would, and wants to destroy the world in order to speed the arrival of the long-awaited Jewish messiah who definitely was not that illiterate dead Jewish hippy Jesus (Mr. Christmas) who Jews think deserved to be crucified for defiling the real Bible.  Meanwhile, Christians think and believe all Jews will covert to their faith after the next world war destroys civilization.

One leg of the ruling class is always spying on the other leg of the ruling class. Then there are those above who spy on all, and each with its own purpose; http://www.focusonrecovery.net

Jonathan Pollard. Nuff said.

Israel should not be surprised that we spy on them and we should not be surprised that they spy on us. We both have our reasons.

we need to find out what you'll be dragging us into next

Hey Israel! We will stop spying on you when you stop spying on us: Anyone remember "Johnathan Pollard"?  And we also stop spying on you when you cease and desist from building all those ILLEGAL settlements on the West Bank that provoke more anger and hatred towards you and the USA.

They've spied on us before and probably continue to do so. What's the big deal.

LOL...What goes around comes around!

They want us to stop spying on them, and at the same time they want released from prison people who were caught spying for them! LOL

My father was in counter espionage for 30 years, from the 60's-90's.  In short, he said that there are three countries to never trust.  (1) The Soviets (2) China (3) Israel.  He also told me that, contrary to popular belief, the U.S. did not give Israel the plans for the bomb; they stole it.

Of all "allies", certainly Israel is one which we need to keep an eye on.  I guess they're upset that they can't simply catch our spies like we caught theirs.

This is rich!

Israel demands we stop spying on them and, oh yeah, release our spy.

Israel has no leg to stand on.  There is no doubt in my mind that Israel continues to spy on the staunchest and most important ally they have. One whom, by they way, they have no problem pushing around.

This is an ironic case of pot/kettle.

@JohnnyLaRue I am unaware of Israel ever dragging the USA into a war. That is more than we can say for the UK, France, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Korea.

@bbsnews@Pellam"The invasion of Kuwait was just as much about Israel as it was about Kuwait"

And how much are the Saudis paying you for this nonsense.

bbsnews

@PellamIt's no "canard" it's a fact of Israeli life that there are an untold number of Hasbarians being paid directly by the Israeli government first they were run from the foreign ministry and now they work directly under the PMO's office and directly recruiting college kids now.

This fact has been extremely widely reported. As has the Israeli role in Kuwait, the angst about Saddam's payments to Palestinians families, and the SCUDS that were falling in Israel.

The invasion of Kuwait was just as much about Israel as it was about Kuwait.

@mrxexon@PellamYou're either a troll or dense. You are one never to let facts get in the way. By the way, the USA stopped Iraq to ensure that Israel did not  stop them itself. The USA didn't want to lets Jews jeopardize it's Muslim alliance. Have a good day.

@Pellam

Israel couldn't make them stop. The US did. I doubt we volunteered that out of the goodness of our heart. "Somebody" made a promise to protect Israel no matter what. It wasn't we the people.

And I could care less about Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. I have no use for royalty or segregated societies. That includes Israel. I look forward to these nations being plowed under so their people can rise back to the top.

It's the Shiva in me...

The old Hasbara canard. That is precious. Then again, it tells me who I am dealing with: an Arab propagandist. I would say a paid one, but I doubt anyone would pay for your posts. As for the missiles, it was Iraq firing them in 1991. You know, during the war we fought to defend Saudi Arabia and liberate Kuwait.

But WHO was lobbing missles at Israel?

And when did I say anything about Jews? You want to play hasbara with me?

The 1991 war had to do with Kuwait, not Israel. For you to post such nonsense, you are either of limited intelligence or just one of those critters who don't like Jews.

Obama is inept as is the system within which your democratic representational system functions. The problem with knocking Obama the logical default to which you seem to align is pro-republican and will fervently defend the 8 years in which Bush created so much global turmoil.... The world celebrated Obama as much as they rejoiced Bush leaving
