Car Bomb Kills Three Coalition Soldiers in Afghanistan

Three service members traveling in a convoy of international soldiers were killed in Afghanistan on Friday after an attack from a suicide car bomber in Kabul.

Six Afghans were also wounded in the attack, which Kabul police spokesman Hashmat Stanakzai said took place about half-a-mile from NATO’s Camp Phoenix base, the Associated Press reports.

A spokesman for the Taliban, Zabiullah Mujahid, said the insurgent group was responsible for the bombing.The International Security Assistance Force has not yet confirmed the nationalities or identities of the three soldiers killed.

The latest deaths bring the AP’s tally of coalition troops killed in Afghanistan this year up to 151.
