The Taliban claimed responsibility Saturday for a bombing at a Kabul cafe Friday that killed 21 people, including two Americans and a number of prominent officials and Westerners.

The attack was retribution for a coalition airstrike in which “up to 30 innocent civilians” were killed in a coalition airstrike north of Kabul, Afghanistan, two days before, the Taliban said. The attack was notable for targeting a low-security restaurant popular with foreigners, unlike more typical attacks where the Taliban targets fortified Western government compounds, according to The New York Times.

Among the dead are the United Nations chief political affairs officer in Afghanistan, the International Monetary Fund’s representative in the country, and two Americans working at the American University in Kabul.

That makes no sense, they're mad that innocents are killed so they kill innocent people in response? "Among the dead are the United Nations chief political affairs officer in Afghanistan, the International Monetary Fund’s representative in the country" so what happens, who is the next guy, what were his policies, what will be the policies of the next person. Seems no coincidence, that the UN / IMF rep was a high target. If they targeted an individual it would not correlate with the retaliation story. Is there footage of the admission of guilt, are the people claiming responsibility verified to not be actors? Many are growing skeptical. People of the world want peace.

When are we going to learn there is no appeasement of the Taliban. Only brutal, crushing and relentless force will work against these savages. No mercy, no hesitation, and no remorse. They have none for us.

And we should continue to use our best technology against them. Preferring to stay illiterate in the 14th century has disadvantages.
