Maybe one of those death metal band cover artists should re-create these images to detail these nightmares. With the shock comes sympathy.

Definately UN and Ban Ki-moon should do something.  Especially Ban Ki-moon is from S. Korea.

China must feel proud of their protegé.

For those wondering why we don't do something...because every piece of their arsenal is pointed at Seoul, SK and that city would be decimated in hours if not minutes. Because the death toll would not be fathomable in today's society. Because Seoul has become a major financial hub and markets world wide would crash starting depressions.

Saddam was known for heating spoons and placing them on men's testicles. Placing mercury thermometers in their urethras and then breaking them. What's happening in these pictures is awful, but "gruesome" it is not. Exaggeration is not a virtue.

Ah, the only country where everyone is truly equal. No dirty capitalists mucking it up with their damn class hierarchy. Surely their humble lives and meager hardships do not compare to the oppression by the dreaded 1%?

What is going on in North Korea is about a thousand times worse than what is happening in US prisons.

So sad to see this kind of thing going on. Those responsible are heartless..they will have to answer to God one day...and I hope that one day is really soon

OMG, even worse than what the Nazis did, never thought I would write such words!!

I think our battles our important elsewhere but we need to work out a deal with china and kill this maniac and free those poor people. They wouldn't fight back at all. Most of the military would surrender like saddam's did.

I cannot believe this still goes on in parts of the world in this day and age, but yet the US is fighting a war in the middle east to help people that don't need to be helped.

The US has more people in prison per capita than any other country in the world.

Rats and snakes can actually be quite delicious when prepared properly.

Although we will probably never know the truth until the country falls apart, media using words such as "may" "could have" "probably" is a waste of journalistic integrity in exchange for flashy headlines

What part of "torture" don't you understand? What do you suggest happen, the leaders of North Korea get a stern talking to and then hugs later?

How do you know? We run many off shore military prisons that have little oversight. Assuming that you're a u.s. civilian, you could not possible know what we do to our prisoners.

There were reports of the Nazi's doing live dissections of people who were fully conscious, pulling out teeth without freezing to get at the gold fillings, burning people alive... much worse than North Korea is doing but that doesn't make what North Korea is doing OK by any stretch of the imagination.

fenglin1
fenglin1

No, it is not. The Nazis were commiting atrocities on a much larger and more brutal scale.

If oil was to be discovered in any huge amount within North Korea's borders, suddenly the Untied States, England, etc. would be in there in a heartbeat.

@fenglin1 Unless, of course, he has served time in a U.S. prison or works in a U.S. prison. He did not specify in his comment that he was talking about military prisons.

The Halocaust is when Halo 3 came out and thousands of people starved to death by neglecting basic care of their bodies.  Not to be confused with the Holocaust.
