“I travel a lot around the country and therefore speak from personal experience – I have never seen the degree of indifference, apathy and cynicism that I see today. Even under Brezhnev. They say something different in their public pronouncements, but all politicians do that. Most of all I am concerned and, if anything, irritated that we are kept in the dark. They treat us like some school children who have not yet matured. Generally speaking, this is outrageous. In the end, these people claim to represent our interests and are accountable to us.”
