Seventy-four people are missing after Typhoon Wutip sank three Chinese fishing boats in the South China Sea on Monday morning, CNN reports.

Rescuers had saved 14 people as of Monday afternoon, although the Chinese news agency Xinhua said the search was being hampered by rough winds. Ten ships and six planes are a part of the rescue effort, the BBC reports.

A total of five boats carrying more than 150 people were caught in the storm.
