Sometimes, money really does fall from the skies.
Bolivian drug dealers recently tossed a bag filled with $1 million in U.S. currency out of a low-flying plane, intended for colleagues on the ground in the eastern Santa Cruz province, the BBC reports.
But in a lesson on just how hard it can be to hit your target from a fast-moving vehicle, the smugglers missed and the money ended up in the hands of Bolivian anti-drug police.
Police in Bolivia, which is among the world’s top cocaine producers, had been tracking the gang and believe the money was to be used for a cocaine production center or to set up a fake commercial enterprise.
