An out-of-control monster truck raced into a crowd of spectators at a show in Mexico on Saturday, killing at least eight people and injuring 80 others. The driver lost control of the truck after leaping over a pile of cars he was crushing at the “Extreme Aeroshow,” according to a spokesman from the Chihuahua state prosecutor’s office.

Some witnesses said the driver appeared to hit his head and become incapacitated during the stunt, possibly explaining the accident, according to the Associated Press.

The accident killed at least one child. Forty-six of those injured remained hospitalized early Sunday.
