Yemeni rights activist Tawakul Karman has donated her $500,000 Nobel Peace prize money to victims of Yemen’s anti-government uprising. The 34-year-old mom of three said the gesture was her duty to the young people who “sacrificed for change,” reports CNN.

Karman, who has been a longtime campaigner for women’s rights and freedom of expression in Yemen, became the first Arab woman to win the prize in 2011.
