A group of “superheroes” in Scotland helped police nab an attacker, and authorities were shameless about thanking the costumed crusaders on Twitter for the crime-fighting assistance.

A band of people dressed as Batman, Robin, David Hasselhoff and a Smurf were walking down a road in Musselburgh, a city east of the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, when an assailant attacked the man dressed as Robin. According to the BBC, the group gave chase and ran down the attacker in a nearby Tesco supermarket. The East Lothian Police thanked the group on Twitter:

The authorities also gave an account of the incident, which happened last Friday, just one day after Halloween:

A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with the assault. He pleaded guilty in court on November 4.
