Tourist Bus Crashes in Bali, 7 Dead

Engine failure causes bus full of holidaymakers to fall into ravine

Seven people were killed on the Indonesian island of Bali after a bus crashed into a 15-meter deep ravine on Monday afternoon.

The island is an internationally popular holiday resort. According to a report in the Bangkok Post, five of the deceased were Chinese tourists, while the other victims included an Indonesian tour guide and the bus driver. Eight people reportedly survived the crash, some of who sustained serious injuries.

The Bangkok Post said that the bus was running uphill “when its engine suddenly stopped working and it moved backward, falling into the ravine.”
