French prosecutors said Wednesday that authorities arrested a suspect fitting the description of the shooter who has been on the loose since seriously wounding a photographer at a newspaper office on Monday.
The gunman fired shots with a hunting rifle or similar weapon at the office of left-leaning French newspaper Libération and 90 minutes later opened fire outside a suburban business district, injuring no one, the Associated Press reports. The gunman, who was captured on video surveillance, then hijacked a car and forced the driver to take him into the crowded city center, setting off a city-wide manhunt.
The suspect was arrested in a suburb about six miles north of Paris.
