Glasgow Police Helicopter Crashes, 8 Dead and Dozens Injured

Scottish police are still seeking survivors of a fatal helicopter crash that left eight dead and dozens injured in Glasgow on Saturday.

A police helicopter slammed into a packed house at the Clutha Pub near the banks of River Clyde on the eve of St. Andrews’s Day, Scotland’s official national holiday. The ska band Esperanza was playing when the chopper hit at about 10:30 p.m. local time, the Associated Press reports.

At least 32 people were rushed to the hospital by ambulance, according to Chief Constable Stephen House. All three aboard the chopper were killed in crash, five were killed inside the pub.

The cause of the Eurocopter EC135 T2 helicopter crash was not immediately clear.
