Five members of an Iranian film crew were killed on location when explosives being used to shoot a scene on the 1980-1988 Iraq-Iran war exploded.

Among the dead were the head of special effects, actors and members of the production team, the BBC reports. The filmmakers used live explosives for the shoot because Iran embargoes the importation of dummy props.

“The explosives are of the kind used in war zones,” said a crew member.
