Qi Fang, the former police chief of Wusu city in northwest China’s Xinjiang Autonomous Region, was accused of keeping twins as mistresses, putting them up in a high-end apartment on official expenses. The affair was exposed when a photo of the girls wearing négligées was posted on the Xinjiang news portal iyaxin.com. The sisters, who previously worked in a cultural troupe, were given jobs in the police force by the married Qi. According to Beijing News, one was appointed deputy director of the county’s special police force and the other joined its traffic police operations. But a police source later deemed it necessary to set one detail straight, telling China Daily that the two were indeed sisters aged 28 and 26, but not twins. Qi was removed from his post last December.
