Bill Frelick, director of the Refugee Program at Human Rights Watch, in a statement Friday accusing Chinese authorities of taking tough action against at least 1,000 Kachin refugees, by sending them back to northeast Burma in the past week.
“China is flouting its international legal obligations by forcibly returning Kachin refugees to an active conflict zone rife with Burmese army abuses.”
