Four service members are dead after a U.S. Air Force helicopter crashed in eastern England Tuesday night.
A spokesperson for the Royal Air Force base in Lakenheath, which hosts U.S. Air Force units, told the Associated Press that the Pave Hawk helicopter crashed in the coastal village of Cley. A U.S. defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the helicopter’s four crew members had died.
The helicopter belonged to the U.S. Air Force’s 48th Fighter Wing, a division based in Europe, the BBC reports.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
