A volcanic eruption in Indonesia killed three people and forced thousands to flee ion Friday.

Two of the deaths were caused by smoke inhalation and the third came as a result of falling debris, CNN reports. More than 75,000 people been evacuated and airports have closed as smoke and ash spewed from Mount Kelud in eastern Java.

A spokesman from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency said small eruptions are possible and lightning has been striking the volcano’s peak. The agency is urging people to stay outside of a 10-kilometer radius.
